You can determine the ABV of your beer by measuring the original gravity (OG) and final gravity(FG) of your brew.
You cannot measure ABV directly in the finished beer.
The EasyDens is specialized in monitoring the beer brewing process and calculates the alcohol content of your batch.
How is this possible?
For ABV measurement of beer, an additional reference is needed. You measure the original gravity (specific gravity before the fermentation process starts) and the final gravity (specific gravity of your brew during the fermentation). From there, the EasyDens does all the necessary calculations for you and provides an estimation of the ABV of your beer. This is only possible due to specific formulas that are valid for beer brewing activities only. The relevant calculations are based on equations available in literature ("Gutes Bier Selbst Brauen"-Hubert Hanghofer) and are also applied when using a traditional hydrometer.
If you want to know the ABV of your brew, please select the specialized measurement method “Beer” in the Brew Meister App.
Please note that you cannot measure ABV of beer directly. (E.g. bottled beer sample)
