You can follow the fermentation process of your Kombucha to monitor and control the process. However, there is not specialized calculation method for Kombucha ABV. Direct determination of the ABV of your Kombucha via the "Spirits" section is not possible. If you are interested in this topic, we recommend the article ABV.
ABV calculations used for beer brewing processes are not fully applicable for Kombucha measurements. Kombucha is an even more complex mix. In addition to alcohol, also acids form during the fermentation process. Those acids also influence the density of your sample. As we already know, the EasyDens measures sample density while not distinguishing between the different influences of the components in the fluid.
Currently, we are working on a method also suitable for Kombucha measurement. Stay in touch so you don’t miss the news on this topic (Newsletter).
Although there are no specific calculations yet, you can use EasyDens to follow your fermentation process. This can help you to maintain quality and to reproduce your best brew.
You are doing F2? If you want to be in control of the carbonation, you should know how much sugar you add when bottling. EasyDens can measure the sugar content of the juices you might use and therefore offers a very good option for controlled carbonation in your kombucha.
